Discounted fee applies to pension card holders, health care cardholders and full-time students.
Please note as of 1st January 2021, children under 5 years of age will continue to be bulk billed on weekdays and discounted on weekends. Children above the age of 5 years old will be billed at a discounted rate for all appointments. During the transition period, Dr. Abigail Fox offers consultations for children between age 5 and 15 on weekdays without gap charge until 30th of June 2021. Please find the updated fees below or speak to our reception for more information. Thank you.
Q: How can I get my rebate?
A: We are happy to assist you in providing your Medicare rebate on the spot after your appointment via Medicare Easyclaim. After paying the full fee, you have the option of using a Debit card to receive the rebate immediately, or we can send the rebate to the bank account held by Medicare.
Q: I don’t have Medicare. Can I still see a GP or allied health professional?
A: Yes. We welcome all patients to Montrose Medical Practice. If you do not have a Medicare card, you will be charged our private fees (link). We can provide you with a tax invoice so that you have the option of claiming through any insurance you might have after your consultation.
Q: Are there private health rebates available on site?
A: We are unable to offer private health rebates for GP consultations. However, we can provide private health rebates through our HICAPS machine to eligible patients who are accessing our allied health services (podiatry and clinical psychology). You will need to confirm whether you are eligible for a rebate for these services with your private health insurer.
Q: My child doesn’t have Medicare yet. What do I do?
A: Unfortunately, we are unable to Bulk Bill children who do not yet have a Medicare card so there will be a small fee to pay after your child visits the doctor. We will provide you with the tax invoice for this visit and, once your child has a Medicare card, you can use this to claim your rebate.
