At Montrose Medical Practice, we believe that prevention is better than cure and, as such, we offer a number of different preventive health services, including various programs that have been introduced by the Government to promote preventative health.
This one-off Medicare-funded health assessment is available to eligible patients aged between 45 and 49 years who may be at increased risk of developing a chronic disease. This assessment is an important opportunity to review your overall health, identify early risk factors, and discuss lifestyle changes that may help prevent or delay the onset of chronic disease.

Our GPs may recommend regular screening blood tests to patients who suffer from particular conditions or those of a particular age. This is an important part of preventative health as regular screening can help to detect medical conditions early and lead to better treatment outcomes. Screening blood tests are able to be done on-site through our pathology service, Douglas Hanly Moir.
This is an annual service available to patients who are over 75 years of age. This regular check-up consists of a comprehensive review of your health and lifestyle. It is an important part of preventative health as it can help to identify any health issues and conditions that may be preventable or able to be controlled through interventions in order to improve health and/or quality of life.
Montrose Medical Practice is pleased to offer the seasonal flu vaccination each year through our Flu Clinic. This will consist of a brief consultation with one of our GPs who will provide information, support and advice on how to keep yourself and your family healthy during winter and one of our nurses will administer the vaccination.
